Who I am

From the rainy Pacific Northwest to the arid Southern Californian desert, water is the lens through which I see the world – its social, spiritual, political, cultural and ecological implications are inescapably fascinating to me. Through research, mapping, and collaboration with communities of activists, I have become critically aware of the paralysis that can result when communities face waterscapes that are changing faster than current systems can deal with - a state which only further obstructs water justice from being achieved. Given climate change is one, if not the most important, forces impacting the distribution of water globally, my attention is often turned here. Nourished by time spent outside, I believe that relieving these climate burdens can be achieved through immersive methods of connecting to landscapes and people. I welcome bigger-picture idealism and am driven by linking the local to the global.
